Lavatera Silver Barnsley, commonly known as a Mallow. An attractive semi-evergreen shrub with striking silver foliage and an upright habit which produces masses of white flowers maturing to pink with dark pink eyes all summer long, attracts butterflies and other pollinators, easy to grow in most soils in full sun to light shade.
Lavatera Silver Barnsley can be trimmed back hard in spring to ensure vigorous flowering shoots are produced each season. Best grown in full sun to dappled shade.
Cultivation
Grow in light, well-drained soil in sun with shelter from cold, drying winds. In cold areas, protect with hessian or fleece in winter and apply a thick mulch. If container grown, overwinter indoors in cold areas.
