Shipping and Delivery

Shipping plants takes great care and effort and we have organised our shipping approach to ensure your plants arrive in the best possible condition.  

We offer the following alternatives for getting product to you:

1. Click and Collect
2. Local Delivery (only within a 20KM radius of the garden centre)
3. An Post Delivery to anywhere in the Republic of Ireland

Click and Collect is Free and the cost of other delivery services are calculated during the checkout process on the site.

We have delivered some of our award-winning dahlias further afield.  Our ability and the cost of doing this depends on the location and different regulations. If you want us to ship to a location outside of the Republic of Ireland then please get in contact at cwthreegtes11@gmail.com and we will endeavour to meet your requirements.

Dahlia Shipping and Availability

Dahlia plants will not be available until the middle of May/June.

Orders are processed on a first come first served basis for Dahlias. If you order before May we charge your credit card at the time of order and will ship your dahlias as soon as they are ready from our nursery.  People who order in good time have a better chance of getting dahlias this year due to the weather and the present climate.

When you receive the plants, pot them into bigger pots and harden them off gradually during the day and protect them from frost during the night.

The recommended time for planting out is the first week in June or when the risk of all frost is over.

Click and Collect

• Click and Collect is free and you have the bonus of seeing the plants before you leave the nursery. It is also a safe and secure way to get your plants during the period of this pandemic.

Local Delivery

• We offer local delivery by the Garden centre staff on orders up to a radius of 8km from the Garden centre for orders over €50 for a delivery charge of €5.00
• We offer a local delivery service by the Garden centre staff for orders above €50 and for a radius of 8km to 20KM radius of the Garden for a delivery charge of €10. 
• If you pick the Local Delivery we will endeavour to deliver with 3-5 days but this does depend on order volume and activity at the Garden Centre and Nursery

By Courier

• We use An Post to deliver to addresses beyond the local area.
• We only ship plants on Monday to Wednesday to avoid plants sitting a long time over weekends in either courier vans or at depots.  
• Orders placed before 4:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, will be dispatched the next day.  Orders placed Wednesday to Sunday will be dispatched on the following Monday morning.
• An Post will provide a tracking number for your delivery once they receive it.
• Shipping Costs €15.00 for the first carton of an order, if your order requires 2 cartons the total shipping cost is €20 and if your order requires three cartons total shipping cost is €30.
• This is calculated at checkout. We typically fit 4 to 8 plants per box depending on plant size.  You can keep this in mind when shopping.

On Receipt of your Package

When you receive your plants you should unpack them immediately in order to maintain them in good condition even if you do not intend to plant them for some days.   Inspect them if they are dry then water them to allow the plants to recover.

For some herbaceous plants, we may cut them back to fit properly in the box. The great thing about herbaceous is that they grow back quickly and are stronger when they do. For some varieties, it encourages more flowers.

Sometimes to fit the plants in the box we place them on their sides, this is to keep down delivery costs for you. The plants are perfectly fine as herbaceous are quite resilient it would take a lot more than being squashed to kill them. If they are left out of the box for a day or two before planting they stand back up.
