Penstemon ‘White Bedder’ ( ‘Snowstorm’, ‘Royal White’, ‘Snowflake’, ‘Burford White’ ) is a lovely stocky Penstemon whose creamy buds open to pure white flowers. White in its effect in the garden, but showing pink staining on close inspection. Flowers all summer if dead headed regularly.
SOWING, SEEDS, PLANTING | Plant in spring or summer in well-drained soil. If you garden on heavy clay, add plenty of coarse grit to avoid plants sitting in winter wet. Prefers sun or light shade. |
CARE TIPS | Leave the current seasons growth on over winter to provide protection and mulch around the base of the plant in autumn with compost or leaf mould. Cut back old growth in late spring as new shoots are appearing. |
FLOWERING | July - October |
VASE LIFE | With its stems seared in boiling water, it makes a jolly bunch of flowers. |
